My first child was a boy and it was during 2020 so he was on sleepers and onesies most of the time it seemed like.
However I currently have a girl clothes shopping addiction because stuff is soooo cute!!! ��
For my previous girl moms, is it ridiculous to be getting cute newborn and 3 month clothes? Do you mostly keep them in sleepers and onesies in the first few months. I know what’s practical because of poop and spit up but again, girl clothes are so cute lol
So what are you doing and how much are you getting of stuff?

it is to me just because they grow so fast, they ruin/stain them w spit up & poop, etc. all the extra cutesy fancy whatever stuff is purely decorative for the parents enjoyment.
I guess if you have it to spend, have at it lol but it's just not my style to go overboard on baby clothes no matter the sex. tight budgets all throughout motherhood have me permanently in the "bare necessities" mindset w ally kids pretty much.

So I’m also in your position, being mom to a boy and expecting a girl. I’m mostly stocking up on cute, pink onesies and cute but comfy dresses. I’ve got a frilly tutu skirt (with matching socks and headband) that goes with a lot of the onesies, and a couple skirted overalls. I figure just chilling at home, baby girl can wear a onesie or an easy dress. Going out or taking nice pictures, I’ll throw a skirt on over the onesie. I’m all about keeping it practical- I know I’ll have my hands full with a newborn and a two year old!

I think it depends on how big your babies are when they are born. My 1st was only 6 pounds 10 oz and barely fit in newborn like they were huge on her. So she wore that size for around 3 weeks then wore 0-3 for around 3 months so she was like 4-5 months old by the time we sized up. My point is that I got to use most of our cute outfits multiple times since she stayed small. She’s still tiny so I figure this baby (girl) will be around the same. With it being summer I did get her cute dresses in newborn/0-3 my last baby was a winter baby. I never had issues with spit up or blow outs and all her outfits still look new. I think changing a dress is as easy as changing a onesie.

My daughter was a March ‘22 baby so we were at the tail end of Covid and the weather was starting to get nicer so I did take her out a lot. But she also had CMPA and reflux issues so she went through a lot of outfits each day �� I usually would put her in a cute outfit to start the day/if we were going anywhere and then it was onesies around the house and PJs at night.

This is my second girl, so she’ll get a lot of hand-me-downs! But I had cute clothes for my first!
She was 10lbs at birth, so we weren’t in newborn sizes very long, but we got out a good bit while she was on the 0-3mo range. In the earliest days, I took advantage of doctor appts! Here’s a picture of what she wore to her very first doc appt at 4-days-old!

I also had a boy first and then a girl and went crazy! It was mostly just bodysuits and onesies in pretty patterns. and bows! Too many bows. Had another boy since and team Green this time and getting a few newborn things in both genders and the boy clothes are so much nicer. Hard to find pretty girl things, everything is in your face ruffles and flowers and tutus

Our little girl primarily just wore sleepers and onesies once it got a bit warmer. We did have some cuter outfits for family "outings," but those were honestly pretty limited for the first little bit.

It’s not a great picture of the dress, but she was born at 10 lbs in size 3 month clothes and didn’t grow a ton for months. She was my May baby able to wear this fancy dress to my sister’s graduation in June and a family wedding in September. But I got it on clearance for $6. Younger sister (October) I didn’t buy fancy dresses because I wasn’t sure about sizing for Thanksgiving/Christmas. I just checked, and for this baby all the dresses we have NB and 0-3 months are hand me downs. There’s no “occasions” for the summer and if there is, we can always buy something later. So likely impractical unless you have specific events already on the calendar. Even with my clearance steal, she only wore it twice.
But like regular leggings and onesie outfits, onesie dresses, and rompers are all practical for summer and cute. I definitely had my May baby in cute regular outfits and didn’t find them to be impractical. Don’t get me wrong, we didn’t plenty of sleepers too, but after two boys I was super excited for the possibilities.

This is my 4th pregnancy (3 previous losses) so I’m absolutely over joyed & have been getting cute newborn clothes & outfits up until 0 �� Each to their own
I say ~ do what makes you happy mamma ��
Iv been given loads of hand me downs & plan to use them for home but I like having lovely outfits/headbands to choose from & dress my girl in especially as my taste is earthy & lots of the hand me downs we’re quite loud prints/colours.
