HOW TO MAKE EGGNOG WITHOUT EGGS | Homemade Eggnog Recipe

There’s no doubt the Christmas season is full of traditions and family gatherings. Perhaps your family has a favorite dish you look forward to having just once a year.

No matter what your family traditions are, or what dishes you look forward to having, it’s safe to say we all know Eggnog as a seasonal drink.

This seasonal favorite will start to line the shelves in the dairy section from Fall till the end of the year. But have you ever wondered, does eggnog have raw eggs? Why is eggnog so fattening? Why is eggnog bad for you?

Traditionally homemade eggnog recipes contain raw eggs. Alcohol can be added to many homemade eggnog recipes as a bactericide. Although very few eggs are infected with salmonella, eggnog freshly made with raw eggs that are infected and not heat treated can cause food poisoning.

In addition, Eggnog gets a bad rap for being fattening and bad for you. Clearly it’s loaded with calories due to the large amount of cream, milk and added sugar.

So, what if you really love the taste of eggnog but don’t want to consume the extra calories and added sugars?

This sugar free eggnog recipe without eggs is a must try! It’s rich, creamy and does not lack in taste!

And the eggnog pairs beautifully with Grandma’s Nuggot Cookies and our soft and chewy Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies.

Another family favorite Christmas recipe we make every year is our homemade meatball appetizer with a sweet and tangy cranberry sauce.

This sounds SOOO GOOOD! Thank you for shari g. I LOVE LOVE LOOOOVE Eggnog, but its seasonal and WAY to FATTENING.
I will try to make it with almond milk and real rum extract. Hopefully when I do I’ll remember to come back here and update.

I’m very curious how it will work with Almond Milk. I’ve now switch exclusively to almond milk. But it’s a family favorite for us without the guilt.
