What Is Lavender Lemonade?

Lavender lemonade is my new favorite drink! It’s a homemade drink that is made with fresh-squeezed lemon juice, lavender buds, and raw honey.

Definitely use locally-sourced raw honey. I’ve heard that using local honey can help you have less-severed seasonal allergies.

Lavender Lemonade

This weekend I made some Lavender Lemonade to help relax my body. I have many migraines that last for days and even though I do take prescription medication, I try to do things naturally when I can.

I shared recently that Lavender was one of my favorite baking herbs and you can even use it in beverages like Tea and Lemonade. Here I have steeped the lavender into the hot water before adding the squeezed lemon, you can even use some frozen lemon ice cubes for added flavor.

Uses and Benefits for Lavender

I am not a doctor and don’t want to make medical claims, but Lavender is used in calming nerves and added to many products to relax babies and adults alike. It is something that has been used for hundreds if not thousands of years in holistic medicine.

Lavender has anti-inflammatory properties and is used for these issues (and more):

  • Insomnia
  • Anxiety
  • Headaches
  • Depression
  • Allergies
  • The Common Cold
  • Stress
  • Skin Irritations

More Ways To Use Lavender

You can add lavender oil to your bathwater, you can spray it on your pillows to help you sleep and you can bake with lavender for a wonderfully unique flavor. The key to lavender is to use it sparingly so it doesn’t taste or smell just like soap.

When making the lavender lemonade you can use essential oils if you do not have fresh lavender buds. Always make sure you are using an essential oil that is safe for consumption (since not all of them are). Just substitute one or two drops until you get the desired flavor. Try these tips on using Lemons also.

Stress-Reducing Ingredients

These are the two ingredients that I used that are known to help alleviate symptoms of stress and anxiety.

Best Way To Juice Lemons For Lemonade

Since you need the juice from 6 lemons to make this drink, I do not suggest trying to squeeze them by hand. Sure, this is an option, but it will take far too long.

Instead, use a lemon juicer. It is small and worth the investment. There are electric ones and the kind that you just squeeze the lemons on.

Buy some extra lemons too, that way you can garnish the lemonade with them.

I really love experimenting on my tea and this post is totally perfect. I’ve done mixing chamomile tea with lemonade and skim milk, cranberries with fresh milk, feels like making a book out of it. As of now, I feel heavily stress and need new stuff of tea. I’ve heard about this ashwagandha tea that is also good as a stress reliever. Now that I’ve read your post, I will try your tips too. Thank you for sharing this one.
